Pinewood Derby Racer Construction: Part 1

Today we began work on our racer for the upcoming Pinewood Derby. We finished modifications to our pattern, then began the cuts. The coping saw was much, much harder to use than we thought! Back to the hardware store for some wood grips! I don't want to lose any toes while standing on that block!

Zoe drew the arrow, Sydney wrote "FRONT".

The template for our racer.  We made some modifications.
Can you guess what it will be?

It turned out that we didn't need to mark the front, since we had a template and some glue sticks.  Oops!

Daddy made the first cuts ...

... then Zoe had her turn ...

... then Sydney (always stylish in her pink sparkle shoes) took a shot at it ...

... with Daddy's help of course!
